GRAND HYATT Dubaï



On the 10th of March 2015 at the beginning of the afternoon we were on our way to the Grand Hyatt Dubaï. We reached the hotel by metro. After a few minutes’ walk under the the sun of the city that never stops, we arrived in front of the two large towers of the property.


Before introducing you the visit, let’s see brief fact sheet:

-          Facilities: 13 restaurants, meeting venues, spa, indoor and outdoor pools.

We visited the hotel with the Tunisian Sales Manager specialized in GCC and corporate Mr Mohamed Bejaoui. He started the meeting with a show round like he would do with his clients around the property. The Grand Hyatt Dubaï is one of the most modern and luxurious hotels in Dubai, the two towers majestically over the edge of Dubai's historic creek it is closely located to the financial and entertainment districts such as Dubai International Financial Centre, Dubai World Trade Centre, Dubai Mall and Burj Khalifa.

According to our host "the hotel is conveniently located only 10 minutes away from the Dubai International Airport, and two minutes from the Dubai Healthcare City Metro station. The hotel received several awards from TripAdvisor, Condé Nast Traveller and the Middle East Hotel Awards."

Set within 37 acres of landscaped gardens, the resort is one of the award-winning 5 star hotels in Dubai and a combination of resort facilities. The Ahasees Spa and Club is a comprehensive wellness and fitness centre with a wide offering in luxurious spa treatments complemented by saunas, steam rooms, indoor & outdoor pools, tennis courts and fitness centre.

We had the chance to visit a large deluxe room equiped with the last technology.

As a hotel with multi event venues, sales team have to consider it for the choice of targeted customers, indeed they have to attract groups that would use the entire facilities of the resort in order to maximize the revenues.
According Mr Mohamed Bejaoui, the business mix of the hotel is approximately made of 70% of business travelers and only 30% of leisure travelers. This importance of business travelers in mainly due to the facilities of the hotel that attract groups for conventions.

The occupancy rate of the hotel is up to 90% during the year. The main market of the hotel is the indian market and the GCC market.

Grand Suite 
We had the chance to discuss about the work conditions in this dynamic city that gives great future for hard working profiles. He insisted on the fact that finding a job in Dubaï can be really fast, he advised us to create a profile on the website CatererGlobal if we were interested to work in Dubaï. 

Concerning the working conditions, for a sales position the usual entry salary is approximately 1500$ per month and the employer also take care of the accomodation and 3 meals per day. Mr Bejaoui finished the visit by telling us "You can work 55 hours per week in Dubaï, but what you earn is pocket money ! ". 

At the end of the show round the sales manager invited us for a mocktail near by one the outdoor swimming pool, that was a really nice time to enjoy some anecdotes of his every day life in Dubaï as a foreigner living in UAE. We want to thank Mr. Bejaoui for taking the time to having us in his wonderful hotel !
