Raffles Dubaï

Welcome to the Raffles Dubai!

We were delighted to have been warmly welcomed on Wednesday, March 18 by Mr. Tareq Bin Hussain et Ms. Reine Khleif, members of the Sales team of the Raffles Dubai, for a visit of the surprising Raffles Dubai.Surprising first for its exterior structure. While we arrived in front of the hotel, we were flabbergasted by this stately pyramid located offset from downtown in the way Egyptian built the renowned pyramid, lost in the immensity of a barren desert.

This hotel belongs to the Canadian FRHI group, and is part of the 12 hotels of the Raffles brand. With 252 rooms and suites for about 400 employees, the Raffles Dubai is constantly part of the top 3 hotels on Tripadvisor.  Built in 2008 by Sheikh Mohammed request, this hotel has the biggest rooms in Dubai.

By its atypical appearance, its location and the services offered, the hotel is focused on the leisure clientele. Its huge suites of 650 sqm for the highest (2000 sqm with an entire floor possibly communicated) make this hotel a favorite place for GCC (Gulf Cooperation Council) clients. Indeed, GCC guests consist of Royal Family with great wealth, which book for the majority of suites and represent 65% of the clientele of this hotel.

About the entire portfolio of hotels in Dubai, the Raffles hotel is positioned on the highly luxury segment. Its competitors are neither more nor less than the Burj Al Arab, the Ritz Carlton, the One&Only Royal Mirage or even the Kampinski Emirates Palace, 150km away in Abu Dhabi.  About the customer perception, the Raffles stands, as we said before, at the second place ranking on Tripadvisor for 499 hotels in the area.

Throughout our visits in Dubai, we continuously have sought for bottom line figures of the managed hotels. By confidentiality concerns, we couldn’t get what we wanted, obvious. Meanwhile they informed us about common indicators that enable us to deduct an approximate business revenue.
Indeed, with an occupancy rate for 2014 of 89% and an ADR of 1775 Dirhams, the total revenue for the Raffles Dubai would be approximately for 2014 of 145 millions of Dirhams (36 Millions Euros)

This visit at the Raffles Dubai was the apotheosis of our journey in the hospitality and entertainment empire of the Middle East, named Dubai. We would like to thank a lot Mr. Tareq Bin Hussain and Ms. Reine Khleif for the passion shared.
